Popular Mad Man Blacker Calls on Citizens to Allow Government Rule Peacefully

Protest usually leads to the loss of lives and properties as those engaged in the act are always seen with different weapons and Sierra Leone’s August 10th, 2022 protest is not an excuse.


In the early hours of Wednesday 10th August 2022, youths were seen in different streets in some parts of the country protesting over the high cost of living conditions in the country.


After this unfortunate incident, popular mad man Blacker has called on Sierra Leoneans to stop the habit of taking directives from people in the diaspora.


He said Sierra Leone is not into war for such unfortunate things to be transpiring.

He called on citizens to allow the government runs the affairs of the state in a peaceful manner.

He ends by calling on all to go about their normal businesses tomorrow.

Protest Hampers Economic Activity

The Sierra Leone Police deployed additional personnel to strategic locations across Freetown. The central business of Freetown looked like public holiday as only few businesses ventured to trade. Many shops were closed and streets deserted. No protesters could be seen in the streets, but there was stay at home protest, which could be largely described as effective. Even though assurances were given by the Office of National Security (ONS), the police and public officials, many businesses could not venture to open their shops for fear of being looted by hooligans who normally use the slightly of opportunity to steal. Sierra Leone signs military cooperation agreement with Turkey

  Last Friday, the government of Sierra Leone signed a deal with the Turkish government to strengthen Sierra Leone’s military capability. The agreement was signed by Sierra Leone’s Minister of Defense, Brig. Gen (Rtd) Hassan Kellie Conteh and the Turkish Minister of National Defense, Hulusi Akar.   (Photo above: President Bio and the Turkish President Erdogan in December 2021).
